Where can you buy nice paintings in the UK?

Is there a department store that sells them? Or maybe a website?

There are masses of artists in the UK doing “nice paintings” they are desparate to sell so it’s just a question of finding them.

One way is to find out if your town or city has small Art galleries that put on exhibitions, or if there are exhibitions in for instance your local library.

Most areas have regional arts boards that publicise artists working in the local area, and they have details of exhibitions. Also a lot of areas have an “open studio” weekend once a year where you can visit the artists and buy from them.

There are also lots of amateur art societies and groups that hold annual exhibitions where you might find something that you like.

You just need to do Google searches for artists and art groups and galleries around your area.

Department stores don’t sell original paintings as far as I know, Harrods may have an upmarket gallery, but it’s better to buy off an artist who may be just as good but less commercially successful.
